First Service Carolina and Mike Abbott were presented the "2006 Business Alliance Partner" award by the Wake County Schools PTA at a ceremony May 4 at Sanderson High School in Raleigh.

First Service Carolina and Mike Abbott were presented the "2006 Business Alliance Partner" award by the Wake County Schools PTA at a ceremony May 4 at Sanderson High School in Raleigh.  First Service was nominated and earned the award through their efforts in improving technology at Broughton High School.  The firm was instrumental in upgrading broadcast media capabilities at the school and in upgrading computers for audiovisual production at the school's television studio WCAP.  First Service also participated in developing a 5 year technology plan for the school that included all aspects of campus life and coordinated with the Wake County Schools Technology plan.

In receiving the award from Wake Schools Superintendent Bill McNeal and Wake PTA President Cindy Smith, Mike Abbott said, "It is our pleasure to use our technology skills at First Service to help the schools and the community.  We look forward to assisting more both within Wake Schools and through the other organizations we support elsewhere within the community.  We are very grateful for the efforts of the nominating committee for submitting our contributions to the PTA council."
